Our Terms of Service

With our Online Mixing service we balance individual elements (your trackouts), to our best ability, in relation to eachother, with regards to frequency equalisation, mono and stereo image, dynamic range, panning and volume, as those terms are understood in the music industry, with the endresult being a digital audio file ready for mastering. By choosing our Online Mastering service we will, to our best ability, improve, enhance and if necessary correct your 2-track mix, with regards to frequency equalisation, mono and stereo image, dynamic range and overall (perceived) volume, as those terms are understood in the music industry, with the endresult being a digital audio file ready for digital playback and distribution. We also offer Online Mixing and Online Mastering in a bundle named "Mixing & Mastering". By using our Music Studio service you can book one of our state of the art music studios, its available rooms, its available recording equipment and one of our audio engineers to record your own songs.

Depending on which service you book you will be able to add additional services to your booking, such as Comping, Antares Auto Tune and Melodyne. With these services, while keeping any relevant (but optional) booking notes from you in mind, we will enhance your songs even more. With Comping we will select your main vocals from the recordings you provided, take away any undesired breaths, time align your vocals and remove any unwanted background noises. By selecting Antares we will apply Antares Auto Tune to your vocals. Compared to Melodyne this option will be the more audible pitch correction option, also known as the "T-Pain" sounding pitch correction effect. This effect can be applied in either a subtle or more prominent way; if no specific booking notes have been included we will decide by ear and vibe. If you add Melodyne to your booking, we will go through your vocals note-by-note to work on any unwanted edges in tone, cadence and melody. Its effect will be very subtle, also known as the "realistic" sounding pitch correction. In our opinion, good Melodyne correction is the correction you can not hear.

Please understand that it is impossible for us to know which parts of your trackouts we receive are as intended and for final use and which are not. For that reason we mix your song and its trackouts AS-IS, which means that we will not select or do comping for your trackouts if not included with your booking, nor that will we leave things out based on our personal preference: we work with all the audio files uploaded by you. If not booked otherwise, please do any take selection beforehand and only include elements you would like us to include with your song and its mix or master. We assume that the audio files you include with your booking, are all the final audio files that you would like us to use for your mix or master.

We think that having a fair and friendly revision policy is at least as important as the quality of the service itself. We want the song to become what you have envisioned, and in our experience and opinion, a limited set of revisions would only hold back a process that should be fun and creative. We stand by the quality of our services. That is why we do our best to maintain a no-limit revision policy. This means that we will work on your song and feedback, by means of unlimited revisions, until you are satisfied. For us to be able to make this work for everyone, we maintain this policy within reason: (1) we accept revision notes until seven (7) days starting from the moment we made the most recent mix or master available for you to download, (2) we do not accept revision notes which change, revert or are based on previous revision notes, (3) we do not accept any revision notes which arise from responsibilities you did not fulfil based on the agreements made between us and (4) we have the right to refuse any revision notes which have been communicated to us in an unclear, incorrect, insulting or unorganized manner. You can submit no revision notes for Music Studio sessions booked at one of our music studios. In the event that we do not hear back from you within seven (7) days we assume that you approve and your booking will either be mastered (if part of your booking) or approved as whole and thus closed. Please understand that, at any time for any reason, and in our sole discretion, or in the event that one or more of the terms of this policy apply, we will maintain the right to refuse working on any (more) revision notes.

Please understand that not all revision notes are achievable, due to complexity, recording quality or any other reason. In such cases, we may not be able to implement the note or we may work on the note in question to the extent possible.

Upon your approval for the booking we do not process any more booking changes or revision notes and its chat will be closed. Changes or revision notes desired after approval may require an additional fee or a new booking as whole.

Due to the digital nature of our services you waive your customer right of returns and refunds upon booking. Its reason is that if you would like to request a refund or return for your booking, it can not be proven that you will not ever use our mix, master or recordings once we have made its digital files available. In all fairness, upon your request we do offer a full or partial refund in the event that we do not deliver conform our Terms of Service, except if you already approved your booking, if one of its reasons is due to incorrect or unorganized file labelling by you, recording quality, poor communication or due to any other reason which arises from responsibilities you did not fulfil based on the agreements made between us.

Music Studio bookings can be cancelled only until 24 hours before its starting date.

By offering our mixing and mastering services and its option for you to easily upload your trackouts on our website we trust that you, within reason and opportunity, do your best to deliver us your best possible recorded and organized audio files. We remain the right to cancel your booking in the event that your uploaded audio files, in our sole discretion, do not meet our quality standards, or if your uploaded audio files do not contain the quality needed for us to work towards an endresult that will meet our quality standards.

To avoid any confusion; we do work with both home recorded as well as professionally recorded trackouts. The quality of the endresult of our services may vary based on the recording quality of your song and its trackouts.

Note: While recording, your microphone captures information from roughly 20Hz to 20kHz. The better quality recording environment and microphone, the denser and more detailed this information will be and the more information we will be able to use to cater the recording towards your vision and needs. Now for the sake of comparison, look at it like television screen sharpness: let's say you own a 720p television screen but would like to watch things on the television screen more clearly (read: hear a particular element in the song more clearly). You would need buy a 4K television, right? Simply because the 720p screen does not provide enough information for you to see the sharpness you would like to see and you can not change that. The same goes for recording. To get "4K" mixes, you need "4K" trackout quality.

Please upload any necessary audio files for your booking within seven (7) days starting from the moment you booked our service.

Before uploading, please double check your audio file and project labelling. Name a backing a backing and an adlib an adlib. We may use the trackout title to understand your intention for its recording and its place in the song. In such situations we would like to avoid mixing it as something it isnt.

Please understand that if your project, in our sole discretion, is too unorganized to work with, we will remain the right to cancel your booking after which you will be given a full or partial refund for your booking depending on the amount of work we have put in already.

We strive to make our mix, master and recording files available at all times, now and in the future, for you to download on your For Artists account on our website. Please understand that we can not guarantee a 100 percent up-time of our servers, for example due to maintenance or error, which would make your downloads temporarily unavailable. We will try to notify you in the event that such situations occur.

Always back-up and keep copies of your own files! As the back-up manta goes: "two is one, one is none". We do make our mixes, masters and recordings available for download from your For Artists account, but not with the intention of it being cloud storage or a back-up.

We will upload your mix in a single WAV 48kHz format. Your master will be available on our website in a single WAV 44.1kHz and a single MP3 320kbps format. Formats will be bundled in a ZIP archive. We do not include mixed stems. Only the latest version will be made available for download.

We go by "Quality. First.". We do not mix against the clock. As complexity of each booking varies, please understand that our turnaround times stated on our website are only an indication, and it may take longer for us to properly mix, master or process your booking. Of course we will do our best to deliver within the turnaround times stated, but we will make no compromises with regards to overall quality of our services doing so. Our turnaround time indication starts from the moment we have received all the correct and necessary information and/or files for us to be able to start processing and working on your booking.

In music, everybody works in a different way. Some charge an hourly rate, some charge a fixed rate. With us, based on the amount of songs for your booking and any additions selected by you, the final booking price displayed on checkout is the fixed price you pay us up-front. No additional hourly rate to be paid in case of any revisions. Our prices are based on Euros. Our website may automatically convert our pricing and its currency to USD or GBP based on the exchange rate which gets updated once per 24 hours for the most fair pricing possible.

You agree to pay any charges, like any applicable additonal shipping fees, in effect for your booking, and you authorize us to charge your chosen payment provider for any such amounts upon placing your booking. If your booking is subject to recurring charges, then you consent to us charging your payment method on a recurring basis without requiring your prior approval for each recurring charge, until you cancel your booking. In all fairness, we reserve the right to correct any errors or mistakes in our pricing, even if we have already requested or received payment.

Our services only contain best-effort obligations, not obligations or results. Audio recording, pre- and postproduction is simply too dynamic of a process with all kinds of factors, think of frequency arrangement issues or not good enough recording quality determining the final result, which makes it impossible to make any objective guarantees. Of course, we will go above and beyond to get to the best result possible. The quality of the endresult is inherent to recording quality, project organisation and clear communication. You warrant that you have the full right, all licenses and any other lawful necessities approved for us to be allowed to work on the audio files you submit through our website. We reserve the right to refuse any order placed through our website. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit bookings at any time for any reason.
